They went 7-0 in VEL and just beat Yorktown in Fierce Nation. By everyone on this forums logic they must be very good or maybe offseason lacrosse results shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
Lightridge will be better than last year, with all of their best players returning in 2026. The issue is, they tend to play down. Yes, they went 7-0 in VEL this Fall, in the 3rd Tier Bracket. They don't belong there, but didn't play anyone who will make you pay for mistakes. Bad habits are formed when you can get away it over and over. They are doing well in the Fierce Nation league, but hard to tell what that means when many teams are shells of themselves. This Spring I would put Riverside & Stone Bridge in Tier 1, Lightridge, Freedom and Briar Woods in Tier 2, Champe - Tier 3, and Potomac Fall - Tier 4. If Lightridge challenges themselves early with non-district opponents that push them, they will be ready for their District games. If they play weak teams, and go 5-0, they likely won't be ready for their District, but have a winning record.
They Lost to Stone Bridge last year by 8 goals and then 7 goals... They lost to Riverside last year by 13 goals, and I dont think it was even that close... They lost to Freedom and Briar Woods by 4 goals... so, to even make the district final 4 they will need to beat one of those 4 teams...
Briar will not be as good as last year, as they lost their two big middies and pole. They have holes to fill My Ranking on the District: Tier 1 Riverside clear #1 with the 26 class Stonebridge on the way up; only real challenger to Riverside Tier 2 Freedom - has pieces and coming from Class 6 has been tested before Tier 3 Lightridge- on the way up, but no history of winning a big game or been to the playoffs where the game gets tougher Briar - has lost too much to stay in Tier 2 Tier 4 Champe - good coach and some players, but struggled in Class 4 last year Tier 5 Potomac Falls - just not going to compete in this district or even class 5
