Because so many shootings like this turn out to be politically motivated. And even if they turn out not to be, you have nut jobs on the internet screaming things like that even before anything is known, because they have an audience for their platforms and know that bells often can’t be unrung and that people will run with political narratives anyway.

And now you have the FBI involved and the President making statements and always questions about gun control in general.

Unless it’s a matter of campus security, something like this gets elevated to political discussion anyway because agendas immediately try to make it political so they can squawk about whatever they think will whip people into a frenzy[/quote]
