I send my kids private. Political candidates who send their kid public will likely get a vote from me though. The quality of public education has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY since I went to public school. I now have to pay for what my parents got for free and it makes me a bit salty. I don't believe that politicians who put their kids in private have enough skin in the game. Bush Jr and Sr, Clinton, Obama all sent their kids to public schools at some point. Trump and Biden don't have my respect in this regard.
Obama's kids went to Sidwell.
As did Chelsea Clinton.
Yes but after they became president. Chelsea went to public school in Arkansas. The Obama girls went to public school in Chicago. Bush Jr. went to public school in Midland. The Bush girls went to public school in Austin. Every high profile president should be thinking about security. Sidwell has that. Also many public schools are easy access to roads. School shootings (except one) are a public school problem. So I get why a president will choose sidwell. Have you seen the campus? It's secure. That said, when they are coming up the ranks, they should understand the plight of their constituency.
What public school did the Obama girls go to in Chicago? Lab school is not public.
Sorry, you're right. Where I'm from "lab school" is usually public magnet/charter.
I was confused as well. I googled this and was misled at first — it was misreported as being a public school in the Guardian (maybe not surprising, a British paper).
