So it was supposed to be a social commentary on how bad rich people are but that is not what I got. I got the distinct view that the working class poor people were awful. Belinda trying to get money out of a guest for a project that in the real work has zero chance of every making money -- she is trying to steal money; the newlywed is nuts because of her insecurity and is not stable; the waiter dude who gets talked into stealing the stuff; the resort manager who is just a bad person; the friend who would steal from people that took her on a trip. The rich people seemed normal and sane.
I disagree with the take that it was supposed to be a commentary on how bad rich people are. I think all of the characters were pretty fleshed out and all had some distinct flaws. Many abused what power they had, rich or poor. I do not think the rich people came off as normal and saneā¦
The director and reviews all said he wanted to get in the BLM, MeToo, Tax the rich people bandwagon. But the twists made it not so.
