The truth is, we need a better Democratic Presidential nominee. The man is old, has said inappropriate and impulsive things, been handsy with women, and now there’s this story. I believe Biden is not evil, and I believe Reade was harassed in some way: the two can coexist. But I don’t want Biden as President. He’s not smart, he’s in decline, and he has a questionable history with women. I want any one of the multiple younger and more competent Democratic candidates!!!!
Too late. That is no longer an option. It's been a year long process to get us here. Whether you like it or not, Biden is the Democratic nominee.. Those who think that Ms. Reade's story will change that are mistaken. She will have no more impact on Biden's nomination than a certain Stanford professor's story had on a nomination to the Supreme Court. Both of the alleged victims needed to have much stronger cases to stop either ascension from happening. You may have wanted "any one of the multiple younger and more competent Democratic candidates" but you were in the minority. The primary voters who have different priorities from you have voted him in and he will become the Democratic party candidate for POTUS. Now, you have a choice. You can choose to vote for Biden as the lesser of two evils. If you don't, you are voting to have another 4 years of Trump. If you value any Democratic values, you can't possibly allow Trump to be reelected. The one thing you can do at this point is to support Biden in ensuring that Trump is a one term president. Biden is going to be a one-term president. His entire goal throughout this was to ensure that Trump was a one term president. While many of you did not think he was the best option, more people disagreed with you and thought he was the best vehicle to do that. So, stop the in-fighting. All it does is weaken the Democratic party and candidate for the November election. The objections and arguments that are made against him are only helping the Republican cause to reelect Trump to a second term. Is that really your goal? Because that's what you are doing, bolstering the argument for Trump to be reelected. After Biden is elected to his one term, then you can start lobbying for the best Democrat to succeed him in office and help that candidate to get there. But stop fighting the next battle before this one is even won. Doing that is a good way to ensure that you lose this one.
