The coup was the spying on then candidate Trump then using the fake dossier to launch the Mueller investigation in an orchestrated attempt to have him removed from office.

Nope. This was all orchestrated, first the FISA warrants to spy an opposing candidate, then the made up dossier funded by Clinton that was later used to launch the Mueller investigation in hopes for ousting a sitting President. Time to find out just how high up this went in the previous administration.

As previous posters have already noted, it was funded initially by the RNC but they walked away from it, it was then offered by Fusion GPS to the Clinton campaign who then continued to fund it. Again, funding it alone is not the issue. I am sure there are plenty of oppo research out there that was funded by whoever. This is certainly not the only oppo research that was ever funded. The issue is that it was funded by the Clinton campaign *AND* then used as the basis of a FISA warrant against a political opponent. [/quote]

No. it. wasn't. funded. by. the. RNC.

There was no dossier when Fusion GPS was working for Republicans (not RNC). 
The dossier was developed once Christopher Steele came on board.  He wasn't hired until AFTER the Republican that hired Fusion GPS withdrew.  That is when Clinton's campaign and the DNC got involved.  
That is when Fusion GPS hired Christopher Steele.
