Mexico was supposed to pay. That was the promise.
I’m so sick of this stupid retort. The President has extracted billions in concessions from Mexico, including through a renegotiated NAFTA. So Mexico is paying, in a sense. What no one here HAS answered is why Dems care more about illegal immigrants than federal workers. What is your response to that?
Other than the below, what are these considerable concessions in which you speak? The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said Mexico had agreed to ensure that 75 percent of automotive content be produced within the trade bloc (up from a current 62.5 percent) to receive duty-free benefits and that 40 percent to 45 percent be made by workers earning at least $16 an hour. Those changes are meant to encourage more auto production in the United States. Cited from The Global News August 28, 2018. So, Mexico will eventually have their autoworkers earning $16.00 an hour. But honestly, other than the above, NAFTA was left largely intact. It was simply renamed and propoganda for Trump and his follies.
