Hamas, just like all extremists, should be denounced into oblivion. Likud, the other right wing political parties in Israel, the settlers, etc.  are extremist birds of a feather.

There are also garden variety Palestinians and Israelis who act in ways that make them their own worst enemy, too. But there are also Palestinians and Israelis who don’t support the policies or actions of Hamas or the Israeli government. They understood that major regional reform that addresses the Palestinian refugee crisis of the past 75 years is the only path to peace in the region.

None of those observations makes what has occurred in Gaza and the West Bank over the past 75 years acceptable to civilized people. Not sure what accountability should or will look like in the Middle East, but it’s sad to say that I don't think any side will be happy with what’s to come …[/quote]
