Late to the game, and DC is currently playing at a small club, but decent travel team. Where are the best places to look if we're just starting to explore now? Top teams probably aren't what we are ready to commit to, and probably still needing more development for that anyway. We're looking for the next step, from a NCSL top divison team.
What city, state do you live in and what age and gender is your DC? -What is your current club? Do you have a team level? Come back to this thread and answer those questions and you might get some practical advice here. Also, spring tryouts are coming up, so getting onto a decent NCSL level team could be achievable.
Sorry, that's my bad. I thought posting here in the 2014G thread would have on topic answers. Probably should never assume on this board, huh? DD will play U13 next year. We're already on NCSL level team (FPYC). I think she'd be a candidate for RL or Aspire, but it sound like those rosters could already be filling out?
No, you're good! Just trying to clarify so this board can help! :) I think you would not have a big issue getting into RL and or Aspire. Both levels would be steps in the right direction. Closer to you GFRS & Vienna (competitive) and Valor & BRYC (less competitive) all have ECNL RL teams you could try for. Otherwise, McLean or Alexandra or STJ might be the only (Less Competitive) Aspire options that are will still take players. Moving into either league would level up your player's game. Both leagues feature a known/ fixed 9 month schedule of games. Bigger tournaments and some away (overnight) trips. Also, a lot of these clubs incorporate 4x days per week of soccer and fitness training. Usually, you will get more dedicated families who are interested in doing more soccer stuff.
