Nobody anywhere on this thread has said schools should stop teaching history in general or about the Holocaust specifically.
This actual thread refers to Nysmith ceasing their Holocaust remembrance program because of fears that it will make some people uncomfortable. Despite the fact that a few posters have hijacked it to blather about how Jewish people, according to them, are homicidal maniacs.
Not getting another Holocaust speaker after the previous one passed away is not the same as not teaching the Holocaust at all. I can guarantee they are still learning about the Holocaust, with or without a guest speaker.
Oh really? Because Nysmith explicitly said that the event was cancelled due to the Israel-Gaza conflict, not because the speaker died (other speakers were available and had been offered). We don’t have to guess as to why it was cancelled. He said it out loud.
DP. This is surprising. The Nysmith family has always been politically conservative although they kept it quiet. Ken is probably a lot more sympathetic to Israel than a lot of Gen Xers.
Okay? There’s no evidence in the current situation to support that.
