The Democrats were not included in drafting the new bill. Why do you expect a bipartisan or nonpartisan vote for a partisan bill? They have a negotiated bipartisan bill and refuse to  put it to a vote. The do-nothing Republican majority is so dysfunctional  that they only allow the House to vote on bills that they know will fail. [/quote]

You are delusional. Democrats have always been labeled by the GOP as the party of big government. The Dems want, like, and respect the government. Everybody knows this and that’s why they would never shut it down. It will be known as the first Musk shutdown.[/quote]

Polling consistently shows that blame for shutdowns accrue to the party in power. Highly partisan people like yourself will blame the party they oppose each time. But the American public consistently blames the party in power.

Despite all the wild debates, the GOP gains the most by keeping the government open so that they can hit the ground running and not be slowed down by shutdown cleanup.  For the Democrats, it's probably a wash. They will be blamed for the closure but will gain from slowing down the Trump agenda. [/quote]
