Theresa takes some responsibility, despite being surprised by Kathy's reaction, and she hopes to reconcile with Kathy.

Kathy on the other hand, just can't stand anything that Theresa says that out-does what she has with Gerry.  That's just pure jealousy on Kathy's part.

Theresa doesn't look the best in these shots... but she's been crying.  When you listen to what each one says, I don't see how you can paint Theresa as the villain when she's the one hoping they stay friends, while Kathy is repeatedly calling Theresa "dumb as a rock."  -- such a nice lady!
