This last poster definitely is a government employee. These people just wanted to get their kids into a good school not raping and murdering. The idiots in the government are making an example of her because she is a celebrity. She is not a dangerous criminal and the hype over this whole case is outrageous. People with connections get their kids in all the time with a phone call and now the idiots in the government are first waking up to this!!! BULLSH1T! It's laughable. It will continue to go on and they can't catch everybody and they know it. There are too many people doing this. So they make a huge example over poor Lori and her tan little hubby. It is so fricking obvi they are using these people as an example. I feel sorry for them. Much more sinister people do this - for college and grad school. Wake up. They are leading the public on a little parade to believe these are horrible people and I'm not buying it! I think the government is horrible and they need to set these tan celebrities free. Let them go back to shopping, brunch, getting mani pedis, and planning fun vacays. They will probably do time at home anyways due to corona. Make them write a check and send them on their way. Enough already.
Yes, people with connections get their children in legally. You contact the university, you arrange a donation with the university and they admit your unqualified child. Like Jared Kuschner. What those involved with Varsity Blues did was very different. They contact a fraud, Rick Singer, and they proceeded to pay him to pass their child off as an athlete in sports that they had not participated in and taking money and positions away from other legitimate students and athletes. There's a world of difference between paying the institution and having them admit your child than to paying a criminal to defraud the institution. Sorry if you can't see the difference. Legacies and donor admissions cost more than $500K. Jared Kushner's acceptance to Harvard cost $2.5M for the donation to the university. $500K is fraud, not a donation that an institution is going to waive admission criteria for. Yes, Aunt Becky is a criminal and a felon. The amount makes it felony fraud and she is pleading guilty because they know that if they go to trial, they will be found guilty and the sentence will be far harsher if they are sentenced instead of plea-bargaining.
