oh please, stop. some men are in fact attracted to "degrees" i.e. they are looking for intelligent women. it's called assortative mating and it is very common. intelligent men tend to marry intelligent women.[/quote]

there's no reason to believe that this new woman isn't intelligent. she may not be as academically accomplished as the first wife but that doesn't mean she's not smart. case in point: i have an ivy degree from one of the good ivies, and, sure, an plenty smart. but my husband - a college dropout - is actually the genius of the family. educational achievement is highly correlated with IQ. your husband might an exception or might be something you are telling yourself. i don't care. but the relationship is strong and well documented.[/quote]
