Are the expensive dresses really worth it?
I bought a $3000 dress when most of my friends were spending $1200 or less and I feel it was worth it. I tried on dresses from $700-$4000 and the cheaper ones didn't have as nice of detailing and they used a lot of synthetic fabrics. I also have no idea if this is true or not, but the sales lady at the bridal store said that the cheaper dresses tended to take longer from the factory as they were all made in China and the Chinese factories closed down for a month for Chinese New Year, whereas if you ordered a dress that was made in Europe or the US, you'd have it quicker. I had my dress in about 5.5 months from Spain.
Your logic that the more expensive dress was "worth it" relies on (1) nice "detailing" making a dress better; and (2) non-synthetics making a dress better. So long as the dress looks good and looks good on you and it's a style you like, those things seem like unnecessary upgrades that aren't adding any more value for something that you'll wear for literally 8 hours. Also, 5.5 months from spain seems like an offensively long wait for a wedding dress. Mine was 2 months. not sure where it was made. $1000. It sounds like the lady at the bridal store was selling you a line and you bought it.
