If the police were involved, I think the boy's parents are just reacting in a way they think will protect their son from being thrown in jail.  I don't think they are insane, just shell shocked at the potential of their kid being thrown jail and having his life ruined over fairly common teen activity.  I'm not saying I agree with a 14 and 16 year old having sex, but I also don't think it rises to the level of calling the police if it's consensual as the post makes it seem.[/quote]
