And the theoretical beacon wasn't specifically targeted to one person either, but someone waiting to see if someone came to a remote location.  Opportunistic. Similarly, someone may stake out a remote location on a trail and do the same thing - again opportunistic and not targeted to any one person.  Don't go to remote locations. Don't go alone. Exercise common sense.  Just like you would tell your teens who are hiking or going into the City to sightsee.[/quote]
