LA is full of aspiring creative types that are getting by on family money, or just poor dipshits spending all of their money on hair extensions, soulcycle, coaching.   It's a town full of dreamers and the predators that exploit them.

SF & Portland: People running away from home to reinvent themselves, changing their name, changing their gender, ranting about kombucha and better crosswalks. 
 
Only in SF did a homeless teen turn down a free sandwich from me because although he was on meth and living in GG park, he was still vegan.   I suspect he went home to his Mom's house in San Anselmo on the weekends.
