Yes ER for the infection - does he have a good endodontist? If it's this bad he's going to need several appointments. Also he's going to need to max out ibuprofen to get the swelling down - no more Tylenol and Vicodin together!!
Thanks, all! They gave him antibiotics at the ER, and he is scheduled with an endodonist later this morning. Right now, he is sleeping, which is progress after a LONG night. Neither he nor I knew about the prescription/OTC mixing issue, but thanks for letting us know.
I don't know how this is even possible. I thought everyone knew Vicodin contains acetaminophen.
+1. It's on the label in huge letters. There's also a lot of news regarding acetaminophen overdosing. It's a HUGE deal. Can cause permanent liver damage. Please, please don't just take things without reading the label. Drug interactions are real.
Well, DH took it without asking me. Before I posted, I asked what he had taken and started gathering up the bottles to take to the ER. According to the "huge letters" on the label, he was within the safe range, but it sounds like a bad idea to take together anyway.
Your DH can't read?
