$2k for five days in New York?? Wow, someone is making out.
And flying instead of taking a bus or the train is ridiculous.
This is OP. I want to clarify that we have moved AWAY from the DC area. It would be an extremely long bus ride. Specifically, my concern is that if they cannot find a chaperone, I will be out of pocket $2k. I would go, but I'm having surgery in April. My husband will not be able to take the time off work, as he won't have a year at his current job until late July. The sonogram she posted says 11 weeks, dated December 10th. Someone knew about November 17th, when son came home from an event with the rumor. (I checked my calendar for the date of that event) So, she told SOMEONE in the school, and DENIED it.
You just sound crazier and crazier with each post. I do understand your concern but there is still a lot of time for her to find a replacement, which I assume she is working on. Many, many people don't like to announce pregnancies in the first trimester for a number of reasons including that it is all so uncertain. I remember flat out lying to many people early in my last pregnancy. We didn't "announce" until 24 weeks.
