PP, you're responding to.  That argument is really specious.  But this author spells it out much better than I can.

The ultimate point is that Christianity still considers the Old Testament the word of God and an inherent part of the Bible and the core of the religion.  You cannot disavow the word of God.  In fact, Christianity explicitly does not do that.  The New Testament builds on the Old, it does not replace it.

Your contention, in which you pick and choose which parts of the Bible to believe and consider your gospel, actually argues for the point that the dominant majority of Muslims who are non-violent can use the same holy book as the radical extremists and still be good, peaceful world citizens because they can observe the good parts of their religious texts and ignore the outdated and violent parts, the same way that Christians can.[/quote]
