Knew Jerry before she was married.[/quote] This is not true. She left her first husband mere weeks after they returned from their honeymoon. She was a newlywed. I agree with PP who said she didn't take her marriage seriously. She has since come out and said that she knew from the beginning that marrying husband #1 was a mistake, but that doesn't excuse cheating on him and in such a public way at that, as she was extricating herself from a marriage that turned out to be not what she wanted.
