Cosmetics are easy. You see a wreck, I see laying some tile, stripping existing wallpaper, maybe fixing the ceiling, finding a way to work the vintage cabinets. That's a lot more fun than your bland, beige and gray fake pottery barn attempts. Shepherd is a great school... as long as your kids fit in. When they don't? It's lord of the flies.
I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. This is my child's second year at Shepherd and we have neither experienced directly nor heard about anything like what you're describing.
I assume you can't read DCUM code yet. PP is simply saying they're, despite Shepherd being IB, having good scores, solid teachers, and a great community, Shepherd is still 80% black. Shepherd has scores in the middle 70s despite being 1/3 FARM. I have never once heard anyone describe Shepherd as Lord of The Flies.
Well, that's a shame if that's the reason PP is disparaging the school. I know several non-AA families at Shepherd (white, Asian, Latino) who have described their kids (PK3 up through 5th grade) as happy and thriving.
So have I. In fact, I can't really recall one negative comment about Shepherd. Only "negative" thing people may say is the location is out of way for most which is understandable. Shepherd is a gem of a school!!
