Welfare reform (and certainly "welfare queen") can certainly be a dog whistle but appropriate and productive responses don't begin with "you're racist" or "check your white privilege" but with facts and discussion. Censorship is not a traditional liberal value but it's becoming one and it's frightening. [/quote]
