Mothers do call daycare "school" to make themselves feel better about leaving their child for the day. Yes, I am sure the child learns in daycare but that is not the reason daycares exist. Daycares exist to care for babies, toddlers and preschoolers when the parents are away/working.
Ok. I won't call daycare "school", if you don't call staying at home "work" or your "job".
Preach!
hilarious
Exactly! I have never understood why the same people who get so upset that I might call my DCs daycare a "preschool" are the ones who insists that their being a SAHM is "working" or their "job" (and get upset if someone says they don't have a job, and list their occupation on LinkedIn as "household manager" or the like). Do you seriously have so much time on your hands and so little of substance in your life that your biggest concern is what strangers call the place their 3 year old goes for show and tell, a snack, and to meet other 3 year olds and learn the alphabet? Only on DCUM would anyone think that this is an issue worth So much of OP's mental energy, and apparent anger.
