His take home retirement/disability is just shy of $4k/month - 50% disability, retired as a Major. Tricare Prime is around $50/mo and dental is $180/month both are auto deducted from retirement pay. The higher your disability percentage, the less you'll pay in taxes. If you have at least 50% disability and purchase a home with a VA loan, you don't pay the 3% closing fee. [/quote]
