Wait, where is OP being encouraged to use her kids as a bargaining chip???  I see advice that indicates that it's usually the husbands who see the kids as leverage to a better financial deal:  "Speaking as an attorney, men seek full and half custody not because they want custody but to use it as a bargaining chip to blackmail the wife into a lower financial settlement than she would have otherwise gotten"[/quote]
