I am from a northern state as are the neighbors on all sides of me (Massachusetts, New Jersey, Utah, Michigan, Ohio---just on my street).  I'm not seeing a lot of "white southerners" around here.    ???

You must have a limited memory.  Obama carried VA by an extremely narrow margin,  You and your neighbors  comprise  a rather small sport on of NoVA.  Even if your neighbors aren't white southerners, doesn't mean that's not true of much of NoVA.

NP.  He carried VA by solid margins.  VA is a true blue state now in terms of presidential elections.  There are pockets of Republicans in nova, but they are disappearing faster than affordable housing. It's like they moved to West Virginia or something.[/quote]
