I am kind of glad we weren't high enough that we'd have to decide whether to move her in third grade or something. Better all or nothing imo
I'm the PP who is number 12 on the wait list. I'm actually surprised how pleased I am to have a decent number on the wait list, and how much it softens the blow of not getting a place at ATS for K. It may well open up another option for my child in second or third grade if we don't love the elementary school he attends. But we obviously need to be fully committed to his elementary school from day one, assume that DC will spend seven years there, and become part of that school community. We can't let the ATS wait list affect our attitude to our soon-to-be elementary school. Maybe this will be an easy call in the future (either to stay or to go), maybe not. Maybe we'll never get a call from ATS, and this will be a moot point.
