Can second hand smoke trigger asthma?
It can cause asthma. Parents who smoke increase the likelihood than their infants will develop asthma. It can also trigger asthma attacks.
The President smokes like a chimney. I wonder if he has considered that he is the most likely cause of the asthma.
Yes yes and yes. We have kids with moderate, persistent asthma, and my husband smokes. Their pediatric Pulmo says just smoking outside is not enough. My husband has to wear a thick coat outside when he smokes, and has to take it off and leave it outdoors before he comes in. And no smoking in vehicles. The smoke gets into the fabric, seats, etc, and can trigger asthma. "Airing out" a vehicle does not make the harmful substances leave, either.
