Liberals have hated Giuliani since he called out the liberal bigots for using our tax payer dollars to fund Piss Christ. Giuliani is a mensch... liberals not so... liberals in fact are on the record wishing for the data of GWB and not a peep out of the sort who post here aggrieved that a man would have the temerity and the forthrightness to speak his mind. Me thinks liberals doth protest too loudly and I dare say its those who are offended by Giuliani's tame comment that don't love this country.
Uh, most people don't even know about piss christ. Giuliani is playing hack in order to get an administration job as a prize if the R's win.
What makes you say that? Most educated people who were adults in the late 80's are fully aware of that piece of "art" and the NEA's role. Talk about offensive!
I am a Dem, but I had liked Guiliani for a a long time. He was a good US attorney and a good mayor. I thought he handled 9-11 well and admired his toughness on addressing crime and other problems in NYC that in the 80s had seemed intractable. Rudy is like the anti-DiBlasio and I say that approvingly. That said, I no longer admire Guliani. He had become increasingly shrill and bigoted in his speech. Now I think this formerly rational guy has become unglued.
There was nothing bigoted in what he said. If he said that about Bush would he be bigoted or are you merely being defensive because the President is half black thus any criticism of him is racially motivated. Seems kind of patronizing on your part which may be do to some of your own inherent racism?? Seems to me the President is perfectly capable of defending himself, why do you choose to defend him based on the color of his skin??
Guiliani may not have been bigoted in his criticism of Obama, but lately he has sounded awfully bigoted. I part company with a lot of people in that I think that the Ferguson shooting of Michael Brown was justified but tragic. (The NYC beating case was a criminal outrage by the officer involved.) But when I heard Guiliani in the aftermath of these incidents "debating" some African-Americans on TV and using expressions like "you people", it was just embarrassing.
