Talk to the Athletic Director and Heads of Schools.  The rules were set before the beginning of the season, and all the teams were aware of the criteria for being awarded a banner.

Some feel that how a team does over the course of a regular season (and St. Albans did significantly better than Episcopal, with one league loss compared to Episcopal's 4 or so) is more of a test of excellence in a tournament format.  Others like the idea of rewarding the hot team playing well at the end of the season.  The issue goes back and forth and the IAC has changed the format over the years and perhaps will change it again in the future.  But, in fact, if a banner is offered to the regular season title and a team wins the regular season, it is not a "joke" to say they have won a banner, it's factual.[/quote]
