If I were in your shoes, I'd try to simmer down, be honest with myself about whether there was anything I could have done differently and what I could do differently in the future, and also know that this parent is probably going to be a jerk in the future and just be glad that one of my run-ins with her had passed. Your equanimity can be a gift to her or not, but it can certainly be a gift to yourself.
