She's also more likely to be biased towards Shining Stars and believe they are totally in the right in this situation...
While still having more complete information about what was signed and committed to and when than you, unless you are also on the board. Look, I don't think SSMA is completely in the right on this. They should've returned the contract faster. They should've started the location search earlier and taken it more seriously. They should communicate better in general. I was so concerned about the location search and the school ending up homeless that I gave up my child's seat and accepted one somewhere else the first week of May. I also said all these things about the search and the communication to the director and the board and the parents and my child's teacher. I think it's got the potential to be a great school, mostly because of the amazing community, but those things are real issues. That said, I do think that Shining Stars got screwed in this situation. I do think that Bridges, at the very least, found themselves in a position where they could have opted to just stay put and not expand, and they chose expansion, even knowing that that would screw over another school. The landlord did what landlords do and paid attention to his bottom line. But Bridges is part of the charter community and I think it says a lot about the ethics and values of a school administrator that they would engage in a business practice like this.
