I'm pretty sure that none of the parents of young men accused/found guilty of rape sent their sons to college thinking: "great, this is a place where he can really hone his skills as a sexual predator!" There has never been a place or time where rape did not exist. While today's feminists are focused on pipe dreams and kumbaya, this old feminist will continue to encourage her daughter to take steps to protect herself. I do not believe that she should not depend on other people to keep her safe. I certainly am not going to just hope that other people are "talking" to their sons.
