I think the implication of this comment is absurd.  DS attends FCS and I have heard absolutely nothing of the sort.

Perhaps your "source" is referring to the fact that everyone goes by their first name at FCS, including the head of school.  This reflects Quaker philosophy that everyone has a "light within."  The school fosters respect for others, and adults don't need a title to gain respect and authority.[/quote]

Agree with above poster.  In my many years at the school, I haven't heard oneCan I very quickly drop something off this mornkng?  I don't need to come in or anything!  I can come now! blip about any extracurricular activities that are inappropriate.  If rumors are founded, a parent should behave responsibly and do something about it if they have a concern.

The school is small and the intent is "first name usage" as titles do not translate to respect, a persons actions do.

Yep. Not a FCS parent (though we looked into it), but a Friend. FWIW, and to be clear I don't have a problem with this, but I get the sense that not too many families with kids at FCS are actually practicing Friends. I could be wrong. [/quote]
