I work out early (5 or 6 am) when the kids are sleeping a few days a week. We grocery shop on the weekends and my husband and I enjoy preparing a lot of food on Sunday afternoon or evening to get us through the first part of the week. We slice fruit and veggies then. I use the slow cooker at least one day a week, usually more. I make easy things like grilled chicken or boxed pizza once or twice a week. I work from home two days a week and run laundry then. I fold laundry at night when I watch TV after the kids are in bed. If necessary, I Do 2-3 loads on weekend. Our nanny helps with laundry. We have a cleaning person come once a week. We do little things at night to make the next day easier. We pack the kids lunches. We prepare the coffee maker at night so we only have to hit a button in the morning. We run the dishwasher pretty much every night and empty the dishwasher while the coffee is brewing. I try to run a tight ship in order to prevent waste of time. We want to spend our free times with our kids, not running errands. I do a lot of online shopping to save time. I buy birthday presents to bring to their friends' school parties in bulk and storage them in a closet downstairs. Amazon prime is a big time saver. I go to Costco every month or so and stock up on cleaning supplies, paper products, certain foods and drinks, get some kids clothes if necessary, toiletries. We have a newborn now, so our sleep is off track. But we hope to get him on a schedule (like our other two of kids) of in bed by 7. This schedule gives me and my husband 2-3 hours at night to either do work, do household stuff, or just relax and talk or watch TV together. These hours are often my favorite time of day. My husband and I cover each other on the weekends when one of us needs some "me" time or need to work. I don't feel guilty having 2-4 hours of me time on weekends because (1) it makes me a nicer, happier person, and (2) I am leaving the kids with their dad, who they need quality time with anyway. My husband needs less regular "me" time than me, but instead he has a few weekends a year when he leaves for a whole day for sporting events. It all evens out in the end.
