I did google"causes of swollen leg".   I'm pretty good at Dr Google but I didn't get much that would be one-sided.   I got heart failure, preeclampsia, kidney failure,  high blood pressure, and medication, etc. but they all seemed to be conditions that would cause BOTH legs to swell up.  I have zero medical background or biological/anatomy background (didn't even take biology in HS to my shame) so I was just wondering what the conditions could be that caused swelling on just one leg not both.

I just figured maybe someone here would be able to tell me.  
And they did -- DVT, lymphedema, and cellulitis.  
Could also be erysipelas.

After I posted and someone replied with lymphedema I remembered that "edema" means swelling.   And the key words to help me google around would be "unilateral" and "edema".   So that helped me conduct the rest of my search.   Edema means fluid is building up, which could be either blood, or lymphatic fluid.   Fluid could be building up because something is stopping it from moving ( a blood clot) or draining (an infections, I guess).
