I am in Illinois and soon moving to NoVA. Trust me when I say that CC is an absolute nightmare!!!!!!! It's great for the very bright/gifted kids at the top of the range but everyone else is at a disadvantage. Forget about it if your child has a learning difference/disability, etc. They have no chance!!!
The only choice will be home-schooling and grassroots groups that get together to create home schooling groups. But I can GUARANTEE you that this will be squashed dead as well somehow. I am glad my LD kid is in college now, and that my other two are not LD. One is starting her last year at private. The only child that would have been (and still might be) affected by this is my youngest, but he is in private and the school will handle it differently than public. It will take a while to control the privates anyway. By then my kids will all be out. I feel VERY badly for parents who have toddlers and young elementary kids.
