That's because the answer isn't necessarily obvious.  Getting into Columbia is awesome, and Morningside Heights is a great place to live.

But I do think Yale is pretty much a [b]quintessential American university[/b] and offers [b]the best undergraduate experience in the country[/b], along with Princeton.  Having spent some time at Yale, though never a full-time student there, I would find it very, very difficult to turn down. [/quote]

You sound bitter.  I spent time there visiting friends and fell in love with the place.  There was so much to do there, the campus architecture was amazing, the residential colleges were impressive, the food was pretty good, and the kids were just really interesting people.  [/quote]
