There's something very sad about this to me, a sense that only someone who is *truly* beautiful deserves fame and fortune, and the rest of the poseurs should get off the stage. Ordinary-looking people can have other very admirable talents and skills. They still have to put on a dress and make-up and go to the award shows. And then we tear them apart for not being truly beautiful. "Look at her, who does she think she is? She's not that pretty." There are tons of rather ordinary but really great famous people out there.  But if people were to start fawning over, say, Kevin Spacey for his "hotness" - I would simply disagree.  I'm not slamming the celeb, I just don't value them for their looks and I don't really get why some people are swooning over them.  That's all.[/quote]
