Exactly. For the critical posters: easy to judge unless you're from the kind of family populated with people like OPs brother. Unless you're related to one or a dozen ruthless manipulators, you don't have a clue about the layers on layers of Catch-22 situations you'd have to face.[/quote]

OP said that she went to the police a long time after her brother confessed.

I am from that kind of family. They covered some very nasty stuff, including child rape and severe domestic violence. I don't believe OP for a second.
