I don't have an option not to fly- just FYI not all people have relatives to leave kids with for a week, and there are life events besides vacations. 
I was particularly impressed by a husband of one of the PPs- calling a child "bastard". I hope he doesn't have kids and never will. 
As for bad parenting- well, I guess every parent is bad, as there is no 3 yo who never ever tantrums.

Now I know where passengers such as a guy who was charge with insulting and hitting a toddler come from. The poor toddler didn't even pee!

Anyway, I got the response to my original question, no need to go on, this thread can die now.

OP, people initially were very nice.  They thought you were clueless, but they were nice.  The problem came when you made the flip remark about guessing people prefer a screaming kid, which left a bad taste in people's mouth.  Good luck and i hope your flight goes well.[/quote]
