For the first 30 hours after my last birth, I was confined to the bed on heavy drugs. I couldn't see my babies. It was not my choice. In fact, I was so upset I pulled my IV out because I wanted to go hold them. LOL. So, don't be so quick to judge Op.
I call BS again. My nursed wheeled my bed I to the NICU to see my baby. What idiot pulls their IV out?[/quote] NP here, I'm a cancer patient whose had lots of ivs and ports--many in the name of dumb hospital policies that they want you to have "an open line." I've taken several out by myself when the nurse wasn't around and I wanted to use my arm or the tape got itchy. It is seriously not a big deal, especially if you really don't need it anymore and you have big veins and don't mind being poked again. But I'm also the type of mom who took pain mediciation and sent her newborn to the nursery, so clearly I don't live up to DCUM standards.
