The Light of Reform Mosque http://daayieesplaceofinnerpeace.com/MPV-WASHINGTON__DC_2.html
Thank you for sharing. I'm really heartened to see initiatives & people like this from within the Muslim community. Imam Daayiee sounds awesome!
Imam Daayiee is one of the few Imams who will perform Nikah for interfaith (Muslim wife/non-Muslim husband), and also same sex Nikahs!
FEE SCALE TELEPHONE VIDEO OFFICE CONFERENCE CONFERENCING APPOINTMENT COUNSELING Individual $150/hr $150/hr $250/hr Couples $200/hr $200/hr $350/hr Families $300/hr $300/hr $500/hr MARRIAGE CEREMONY $750 $750 $1000*-2500+ LECTURES $750 $750 $1500*-2500+ Why are they charging so much for these services??
Is that really atypical? Seems pretty standard to me. One thing to keep in mind, is that Islam and mosques don't really do "memberships" or some kind of tithing to a mosque. Zakat and giving to charity is required, but Islamic institutions are really very loosely organized and there's not a formal relationship between leadership/parishioner, or monetary tithing to religious leadership/organization. I would probably bet that those rates are also posted averages, and not permanently fixed for all or varying needs.
