The schools are not "better" in No Arlington, there is just a completely different demographic. One could argue that there are better opportunities in South Arlington for children to be exposed to other cultures. South Arlington has some wonderful neighborhoods and some really great people. And, housing prices are less. We live in the neighborhood near Claremont Immersion and I actually know some No Arlington families that have begged to get their kids into Claremont. Also, you can buy a turnkey house for under 800k in S Arlington. Nothing like that in No Arlington.
Lets cut the bull shit and talk reality. The houses are cheaper because the people are poorer and the school ratings reflect that. All south arlington schools have terrible scores check out greatschools.net.
You must have not checked there lately. Barrett has a rating of 6, Key a rating of 5, both in North A. Henry a rating of 7, and Claremont a rating of 6, those are both in South A. It is not correct to make blanket statements, and the ratings on greatschools change - I think for example two years ago the rating for Claremont was higher, but Key was the same, and McKinley was 10, now it is 8. Does this mean anything? Most parents I've talked to don't give anything about the ratings. I've talked to so many parents in both North and South Arlington who are very, very happy with their kids' school, and that includes many of the schools in South A. , like Claremont, Henry, Oakridge, Barcroft, Campbell, and Randolph.
Terrible scores , you want 9 and higher for all levels in the tier
