They're not a loving family, they're a cult family.

They don't believe in obtaining a college education because they think exposing yourself to knowledge will corrupt them, they pretty much enslave their daughters to take care of their other kids - the daughters don't really have a choice. The kids have no friends except each other, because again, corruption or purity or some other BS. The parents aren't interested in fostering a sense of openness and exploration that makes for healthy kids - they're interested in controlling and brainwashing them with immense amounts of fear. If this family were Muslim but did/believed the same things, you can bet there'd be much more expressed outrage about their cultish ideas.[/quote]
