I was just out in California and they have charging stations all over the place.  Go to any business in Silicon Valley and they have tons of them.  There are two or three at my Harris Teeter's parking garage in Arlington.  And I just saw one in a downtown parking garage on K Street yesterday.  So its coming.

There can be thousands of charging stations however there is still the time it takes to charge. 1/2 hour at a rest stop might be OK for some, but for others, like myself, I spend no more than 15 minutes - 10 to gas up, 5 to pee. 1/2 hour or more is absolutely unacceptable. Going to my beach house would deplete the charge of the battery by the time I hit Jersey. Then I have to wait 1.5 hours or more (more like 3) to re-charge. Um. No.[/quote]
