Is it a line item in the city's budget? No. Doesn't mean he's not directly benefiting from those tax dollars. Do me a favor and tell me how much it would cost ASA to buy the land and maintain the fields they practice on? And btw, nobody in this thread has argued that he should be working for free. An argument is easily made that ASA serves a public good. But nearly 400k is a huge sum, one that isn't comparable to others in the area, and feels like its taking advantage of people.[/quote]

If you don’t know how happy the City of Alexandria would be if you started a proper non-profit soccer club that they can give the fields to, I don’t know what to tell you.
