The gang is back together [twitter]https://x.com/wsteaks/status/2027177396495909135?s=46&t=kf1qYlCXQnKgUhJWEIu2vg[/twitter]
I don’t put much past Trump but the fact that clowns like Flynn and Lindell are pushing this makes me think it’s less likely to happen.
+1 Pillow man doesn’t scare me
Unfortunately, he should. Dismissing pillow man, Flynn, Trump, Bannon and the whole crew got us where we are. These people are jokes, yes, but they are also very dangerous. What is it going to take for the American public to wake up?
What it will take is for them to feel some personal, negative impact — or negative impacts that they can easily relate to. This is a good place to say that over generalizing about “the American public” might not be as helpful as calling out the subsets of the American public who are either Trump supporters against their own better interests or mostly oblivious to what’s going on politically and what the likely outcomes of what’s going on politically might be. There’s a huge chunk of “the American public” who have been trying to warn the rest of “the American public” for decades about Trump, and people predisposed to put their individual interests above the well-being of our country and the communities that comprise it. Those of us that didn’t and don’t need “to wake up” have been excoriated as “woke” — as though that’s a negative thing. It will take a lot to get people already sipping the kool aid to willingly join in with our lot.
Thank you. These people are a minority of a minority who only have power because of an esoteric quirk in our electoral system combined with arbitrary, 200-year-old decisions about state borders, many of which were drawn solely to ensure the Senate couldn’t abolish slavery. The GOP has spent the past 50 years stoking racist grievance among the people who oh-so-conveniently have outsize electoral power, making it next to impossible for their opposition to meaningfully legislate for decades. Meanwhile, when the GOP is in charge, all they’ve deigned to do is cut taxes and strip civil rights. They’ve encouraged this idea that our government can’t function because they don’t WANT it to function, leading a handful of disillusioned folks to vote for the racists’ moronic demagogue because he promised to tear it all down. But those disillusioned people are waking up. Every poll shows it. This is not 2024 where Kamala was “up” by 1% with a 3% margin of error. It’s double digits. They now realize what most of us have been saying all along. And, yes, it is MOST of us, because Trump has never managed to win a majority of the popular vote, not even in 2024. That is why they are trying to prevent free elections. Their jig is up.
